• He is also popular for being the face of Korean male cosmetic company SOMANG (소망), formerly held by Kim Jaewon. Additionally, he promotes the cosmetic line for Man With Flowers (꽃을든 남자).
  In February 2006, Hyun began dating Hwang Ji Yeon. They separated in March 2007.
  While shooting The World That They Live In (2008) he met Song Hye Kyo, and subsequently started dating her in June 2009. They separated in the beginning 2011.
